History of PDA
In 1984, Dr. Ronald Johnson, Chairman of Pediatric Dentistry, and Dr. John S. Kishibay, Director of Orthodontics, began Orthodontic Case Presentation and Research Day for the graduating pediatric dentistry residents at USC. In 1985 the program expanded to an all-day event and included a keynote speaker, board cases and research presentations, lunch and CE credits. From these humble beginnings, came the genesis of the current Alumni Day. After seven years of directing and organizing Alumni day, Dr. Kishibay handed off the reins to a USC Pediatric Dentist. The USC Pediatric Dentistry Alumni Association was established as a result.
